After many years of strategic work in Chicago and making the case for a strong city that begins with advanced manufacturing, the Chicago Manufacturing Renaissance Council (MRC) is gaining significant influence in Chicagoland manufacturing, education, and workforce development policy.
In a recent breakthrough, Mayor Rahm Emanuel highlighted advanced manufacturing development in the city of Chicago's "Plan for Economic Growth and Jobs," which advances 10 Transformative Strategies for the region. The plan, unveiled on February 29, identifies the Chicago MRC and its Austin programs as existing initiatives relevant to "Strategy 1: Become a Leading Hub of Advanced Manufacturing."
